The Blood Traitor

"Everyone deserves to have someone fight for them, even―and especially―when they're unable to fight for themselves."
― Lynette Noni, The Blood Traitor

Long Story, Short

Kiva has a lot to overcome as she faces the consequences of losing everyone she loves with her lies. Her past demons haunt her journey toward redemption.

Tell Me About It

Wow, this book was everything I wanted. Romance, battles, unexpected plot twists... it was a great conclusion to this series.

I genuinely appreciate Noni's ability to balance this expansive fantasy world and all its characters. Not once did I feel lost in the story (something that I think is rare in the genre). The team exploring the kingdoms and cultures within was what I enjoyed most in her writing. The environment and communities in each location were anything but cookie-cutter.

The only downside to this novel is that it's packed with lots of scenes. How is that a bad thing? Well, you'll be getting information about every individual moment, which can make the plot feel sluggish.

In the end, I closed this novel with a smile. I'm happy to carry these characters in my heart.

Why...

You'll Love It

  • Traversing fantasy lands
  • Mending romance
  • Surprising plot twits

You Might Not

  • Some triggering elements: suicidal thoughts, domestic violence
  • Description of their travels can feel repetitive
